30dayseochallenge1Ok, well it’s only been a few days since I decided to take on the 30 Day SEO Challenge so I don’t have much to report. I have 9 hubs written and I need to write 3 more today, which will keep me on pace for 100 ish in 30 days. It’s a bit of a challenge, as I am a perfectionist and I hate to put something up that isn’t worthy of being on the internet. I’ve tried to just slap crap together and post it to the various article directories before, but I just can’t do it. It’s not how I am built.

Link Juice is Good

So far my author hub score is 81 which means I was successful in turning all my links in all of my hubs to DoFollow. As long as I maintain a 75 or higher then the links I post will remain as DoFollow links and will pass some serious link juice to my money pages. At the end of 30 days I will have 200 DoFollow links that are keyword anchor texted. What this will do for my rankings remains to be seen.

What is kind of surprising to me is how few people have joined in on the challenge? I’ve sent nearly 100 referrals to hubpages and have yet to have a single person sign up? I suspect because it’s a lot of work and people tend to be lazy. They think Making Money Online is supposed to be easy, but it isn’t. It’s hard work to build a passive income and that is likely what has kept anyone from signing up. I don’t know…I stopped trying to convince people that this was hard work a long time ago.

I need Rankings

I have high hopes for this SEO Challenge and I think these targeted links are going to impact my rankings significantly. Maybe once I post some results from the Challenge, more people will sign up and try it as well. I can’t stress enough how important that page 1 ranking is, preferably top 5. I recently suffered a Google penalty on my two best sites and went from page 1 rankings for most of my keywords to page 4. The income went from about 5k a month from just these two sites to about 500 a month from these two sites. HUGE impact on earnings and really emphasized how important it is to get and stay on page 1.

In any event, just wanted to post a quick update and share how easy it was to achieve that Hub Rank of 75 or better. It happened for me in just 4 days, so from here forward I will benefit from some decent link juice and I’ve made about 6 dollars in 4 days from Google Adsense that is on the hubpage article. My last 3 articles I started including Ebay auctions as well, so we’ll see after a few days if any of them convert.

Have a great weekend and remember….it’s Hard Work in the beginning but the reward comes once the empire is built. Are you willing to do the work?

  1. I’ve been seeing lately many bloggers deciding to write hubpages in industrial quantity :)
It most be very time consuming writing all these hubs but it will be worth it right?

good luck for your hubpages :)

  2. @Hugo….I am used to generating a lot of content so I can write 3 to 5 500ish word articles a day quite easily. I plan ahead for what I am going to write so it can percolate in my head for a bit and then sit down and knock it out.

The thing about content, is while it takes time to write, once written it is always there. At the end of a month I will have 100 pages of content up on the internet on a highly trafficked site with links pointing to my money sites. They will be there forever….so yes it is a lot of work but it’s work that will last.

As for whether it will be worth it, we’ll see. One trend that has already emerged is that MSN LOVES Hubpages. I will share more details in my next series of posts….so far it’s too early to draw much for conclusions.

  3. I’d love to see what one of your hub pages looks like. Can you share? And do you worry that search engines may eventually devalue these hub pages links?

  4. @Scott….ya know I would love to be able to link you to some of them but unfortunately they have links to my niche sites. I used to share some of my sites publicly with the last one being my bicycle seat reviews site. Within a day of posting that post, I started getting pingbacks from 2 other bicycle seat review sites every time I posted.

Some little farker simply copied my site and then started scraping my content. I have buried him in the Serps so far, but it really irked me a lot,so I am not going to share my hubs but you can look at as many as you want…just go to hubpages and see what they are all about.

As for devaluing the links….I don’t know. I am certainly not going to depend solely on hubpages for my links. You need a very healthy link profile in order to survive all of the Google algorithm changes so even if they do devalue them, they won’t be my only links.

  5. Thanks about info

  6. Sounds like it’s going well so far. You’re right, if you work hard, it SHOULD pay off in the end. I hope it does for you too!

@Barbara Crown – hubpage is another free hosting sites for your article. There are unique features that you will notice. Different from wordpress and blogger..

Kudos to the creator of this site!

  26. i am not familiar with this hubpage.. What is it really?

  27. The sites that received a Google penalty-did they ever recover ?

I’m in the same boat-I have sites above me that are 1 page-zero content but happen to have the keyword in the domains. I even have a domain that’s been parked that’s ranking higher than my site.

  28. I’m looking forward to check how you are doing with this challenge. I agree that rewards come with hard working.

  29. Thank you for your work! This is a very informative page.
