partners.jpgI have been fortunate enough to have learned a few things over the course of my lifetime and one of the most valuable lessons that I have learned is to surround yourself with talented people.

I am pretty independent and tend always go it alone and solve my own problems. I rationalize this by convincing myself that the knowledge I gain while figuring out how to say, use Photoshop, is time well spent. Once I learn it I will always have that skill.

A valid point but I have no interest in being a designer, so learning photoshop is a waste of my time….not to mention I stink at it.

The extra knowledge is great, but if it takes time away from my end goal of making money online then it is a total waste of my time. The time I spend doing that task is time taken away from generating content, building sites, managing sites etc. For any non economic dorks out there, this is called “opportunity cost” and only you can control that.

Recognizing this, I have been making a conscious effort to find talented individuals that I can partner with in a manner that it’s a win/win situation for both of us. I might be able to offer them something, and they in turn, might be able to offer me something. A yin-yang kind of thing.

To date I have been able to find a person who can help me code when I am over my head and I have found a graphic artist who is loaded with talent. Two big assets taken care of but what I want and need are some writing partners that are willing to write content for my blog.

Why would anyone agree to do this? Don’t we all have a hard enough time generating content for our own blogs? On the surface most would quickly dismiss this idea but the benefits are many and you can read about this guest blogger who was able to absolutely BLOW UP his own traffic from guest posting on other blogs.

What else is in it for you? Well I am currently a PR2 blog, which is not terrible, BUT I have a predicted PR of 5 which is pretty darn good.

My Alexa is improving almost daily and I expect to be in the low 200k range very shortly and my 1 week average is already close to cracking the 100k mark coming in at 117k for the previous week. I only quote these numbers as Alexa is based on a 3 month average and I am not even 2 months old yet, so my Alexa will improve dramatically as I age this blog.

I have approximately 20k visitors a month currently but that has been growing weekly since the start, 20k monthly visitors on a 2 month old blog is damn good. Think where I will be in 6 months.
