BookMarking Demon Not Worth It
When you start amping up your niche site creation schedule to the point of building 2 or 3 sites a week then it becomes necessary to automate or outsource as many things as possible. Two of the tasks that take the most time are the content creation and the link building.
These two tasks are both extremely critical but very time consuming. I am doing pretty well with the niche sites that I build so I don’t mind investing some money into them on the front end.
I have found a writer that will work very reasonably for me in India. You would never know that English isn’t his first language and his articles are always keyword rich, pass Copyscape and actually make sense. I usually order up 5 to 6 500 word articles to get a site going and it costs me 30-40 bucks.
The other task is link building. I have been trying a product called Bookmarking Demon for the last few weeks and I told you a few weeks ago that I would be writing a review of it in the future. That post generated some controversy and a follow up post from me. Apparently some people can’t handle the truth….but you know what….tough. Life is hard…get over it.
BookMarking Demon
Bookmarking Demon is an automated link building program that allows you to submit a combination of your links to dozens of sites automatically. It’s a bit more complex than that but for my purposes here tonight thats enough. Basically you can generate a hundred backlinks in a few minutes time with almost no effort on your part.
That’s very appealing to me. The software is expensive but worth it, if it works.
That’s the problem, it doesn’t. At least it doesn’t work as well as it should or as well as it could. I have a few issues with it and the first is that it isn’t very well documented to explain how to use it. I played and played with it and still haven’t mastered it. If you try to get support then you are met with some guy in Malaysia somewhere that speaks very poor English. A lesson in frustration.
The 2nd beef is that it is supposed to be updated every month to keep up with the new registration procedures from the various bookmarking sites. They change regularly so without an update BD becomes obsolete very quickly.
Missing Update
The developer of the software recently sent out a letter apologizing for being late on the updates. He is developing a total update to the software so has decided to forego the update on the current version. Basically you are left with a program that can bookmark scuttle sites and a few of the popular bookmarking sites but that’s it.
To me that isn’t worth buying right now. I already own it so I will get the update when it comes for free and maybe at that time I will review it again but for now if you are considering bookmarking demon as an option, I wouldn’t spend the money on it. It doesn’t have the horsepower that it claims to without that recent update to keep it current with the bookmarking sites.
If you want a product to improve your niche site strategy, then SEO Elite is a whole nother ballgame. That software package absolutely ROCKS. I will be sharing my thoughts on SEO elite and why it rocks in my newsletter down the road.
For now, I would hold off on buying BookMarking Demon. If it were being updated regularly then I would recommend it with no qualms at all, but it isn’t. So wait until they figure it out and when they do I will share in detail what it is capable of doing for you.

right now i am using IBP software … and it helps upto good level .. IBP software is also worth buying … i wud recommend it for sure … but there are many latest softwares available with much more improved versions …

Is BMD perfect? No. It’s slow as shit, and the links it gets aren’t THAT powerful. And it isn’t updated as often as it should be.
But it’s sure as hell better than doing it by hand!!! It’s not THAT expensive (50% off if you buy it through your own link makes it like $45 bucks). And it still *works* just not as well as it could…
If you’re COMPLETELY strapped for cash then I wouldn’t suggest buying it. Just stick to blog comments and directory, and article links that you can do for free. But the fact is, BMD DOES get you links, and will help a lot in keyword authority…
Just my two cents. I love BMD and use it everyday.
Sorry but a product that doesn’t work as well as it is supposed to isn’t worth paying a hundred bucks for. The social bookmarking sites are down to like 4 or 5 that actually work leaving you nothing but scuttles.
Scuttle links are barely worth the effort. Sorry for my money they need to do better. He claims he is writing a complete new update but I won’t recommend it to anyone until he does.
I would agree that for $100 it’s not worth it. But it’s only like $50 after you buy it through your own clickbank link. And scuttle sites still have long term value (they take FOREVER to get indexed. But when they do, a link is a link
)
Also, it’s possible that with the release of v4.0 the price will go up. So if you buy it now you’ll get a free upgrade.
I respect you opinion, that you don’t think it’s worth it. But for what it’s worth, I think that if you’re making money online a $50 investment isn’t that much (esp. considering one of my BANS sites alone has increased in ranking from the 3rd page to the 1st page of the SERPS just from my BMD runs).
So I guess to each their own. I’m gonna keep using it

If you’re willing to pay 100 dollars for a tool that does half of what it claims then more power to you, next time I have something for sale I will shoot you an email.
I use it myself too because I already have it, I just wouldn’t tell anyone else to use it until it works as described. If he changed his sales page to state that it only half works then that would be on thing but it is still being marketed as a complete product.
It works, I like it in concept, I just want it to do everything it was claimed to do when I bought it. So far it doesn’t.
Great review and my team agrees completely. I’m particularly concerned with a program that does not stay updated, especially for the price. Thanks for your honesty — hard to find these days.

Having said that people into this whole MMO industry are typically kinda new to “computers” so don’t understand that software cost money. Those of us form the OLD days paying 800 for photoshop or 2-3000 for after affects look at a 100 price tag as a joke. If you want to get work done you get the software end of story.
And having said that piece I bought a copy IBP when it was still called Arelis and it’s still very strong. But SEO Elite is powerful in a different way and I have that too and it’s like 167 I think,so people freak when I recommend it on my site, but I tell them you’ll get your value out of it.

@Dave – I use Keyword Elite and SEO Elite as well and I have to say the difference in quality level is miles apart from BMD.
I am not anti-BMD but you aren’t getting what you pay for right now. Too many of the “good” bookmarking sites are not currently functioning.
If you want to bookmark to 8 or so sites then great but to me that isn’t worth it. I will write another review once the new update is out OR once he fixes this version.
Another small issue is that it does not work with Vista without some decent workarounds. I managed to make it work but barely.
XP and you are fine. Vista and you’ll have problems….yet anther thing that isn’t widely publicized.
BMD use to be a lot better than it is now. I’m looking forward to the update because scuttle links count for next to nothing. And the number of legit social sites is so few there isn’t much benefit to be had. I got it a while back so I’m glad I get a free update, but I haven’t gotten much from it recently.

Thanks for your honest review. I also have purchased version 3 of BMD, and even as of today I do not see a stable version of BMD 4. I do not want to try the beta versions of any software, so I will wait to see that BMD can do in its new version.

Thank you for your Review! I was reading lots of this tool and was curious, if it’s worth the price. Now I know that probably it’s not that kind of tool I was looking for.
Is the new version any better? I was looking at buying this however, starting to think that just promoting social bookmarking on my site and generating true bookmarks may be the best way forward?

i have BMD 4. Its good and does a lot more than other programs. Its great for Scuttle, Pligg also. And you can load your own sites, which some can’t do. Remember, just because a site does not have a high PR now doesnt’ mean that it won’t in a few months. For big sites such as Digg, Reddit, etc., you’ll just have to do it manually. Use proxies and a form auto complete program and go to town!

Agreed with Derrick. It’s worth a try. Not influencing, but if you don’t like it after you have tried it, than just ask for a refund.

Social Bookmarking Sites dont like the idea of automated bookmarking…they are going to continue to change sign in strategies etc.. to keep automated solutions from working. If it was just one or 2 sites to keep updated with that would be one thing…but if the software is designed to bookmark huge amount s of sites those updates are going to be a losing battle… there are better ways…hint

On SEO Elite, I notice it only does up to 1000 links, which is all it can access. But many or even most sites have many more than 1000 links if you look at anything beyond micro niches. So SEO Elite cannot be giving you a full picture of a competitiors situation. What do people do about this, anything?
We just did a test with BMD4.0 and it is still not worth it.
We posted 20 bookmarks, had 5 accounts created on each of the 98 bookmarking sites and here are the results.
1) Only 1 or 2 of the accounts where ever used. It does not rotate properly.
2) 62 sites worked and 36 sites did not work (cannot log on)
3) Of the 62 sites that worked, only 21 has bookmarks in any accounts and 41 did not.
4) Of the 21 sites that has bookmarks only 12 where dofollow links and 9 where nofollow.
So all this work for 12% of it working with real bookmarks with dofollow links.
Anyone got any more feedback on the v4 version? Sounds like it’s got better but it isn’t blowing anyone’s socks off yet?

It seems BMD can’t keep up with the new sites. If you read reviews going back even further than this one, you’ll notice its a pattern of not updating on time.

Am really ‘impressed’ with the BMD 5 sales page, but am very confused with the conflicting comments on the web. I wonder how’s v5. My personal expectation – it don’t need to perfect, but should definitely do most of what it claims and runs in a stable and efficient manner. Really dislike having to create accounts, and BMD looks like a winner here. Wish they offered a free trial.

Hey, Just as I was getting ready to buy the BMD I thought I might read some reviews first and yours made me put my wallet back into the pocket. Although social automation saves time and a demon doing the job more randomly is better than similar services where submission is done instantaneously, I am glad I you described the limitations of this software.
