It’s finally time to announce the winner of my contest that I have been running the last few weeks. If you need a refresher you can read about it
here.In a nutshell it was kind of a simple contest andI must say that I achieved much better results than I expected. I have some big ideas for future contests but I kind of put this one out there without much preparation or promotion. I will share the impact that it had on my blog at the bottom of the post.
To enter was simple:
-
Grab my feed
-
Write a comment about subscribing.
-
If you take the additional step to blog about my contest then you become eligible for a bonus 100 dollar prize.
-
The prize package is your choice of the 4 Revolution Themes that I have to offer. I have the developer rights to these and have Brian’s permission (author of the theme) to give away two for a contest.
-
Winners will be picked at random based on their comment number. Three bloggers failed to write a comment but contacted me about their post and subscription so I assigned them a comment number and included them as well. The more the merrier.
Pretty easy stuff so let’s get on to the winners.
-
First place is a frequent visitor to the blog and I am pleased that his number came up. David @
AdventureBookshelf.com is winner number 1. This means David wins choice of 1 theme and is eligible for the 100 dollar prize as he was the first picked. David I haven’t had time to check my backlinks so let me know if you did post about the contest.
2. Second Place goes to Tay@ Superbloggingtips.com. Being the 2nd place blogger you are the winner of the theme only. Please contact me via my contact page with the email address you would like me to email the theme to and your choice of theme.
Disclaimer…I am travelling the next 2 days so I am on my work laptop….I won’t be able to email you your choice of theme until Friday at the latest and maybe Thursday night. Sorry, hate to hold it up but it’s the best I can do as my home computer is 6 hours away.
That’s it…My first contest. I will tell you I picked up approximately 50 feed subscribers, 30 comments, 350 unique page views of the contest post and about 20 backlinks. This is better than I expected and better than I deserve as I did very little to promote the contest other than write the post and stumble it a bit.
The themes are fortunately no cost to me so the most it will cost me is 100 dollars if David blogged about my contest. I’ll take it. I have some big ideas for the future and if you read my post about partnering with fellow bloggers, then you might see the angle I am taking. One person who has contacted me looks to be far, far better than me on the marketing side, so I am hoping she can help me, and I can help her. Time will tell…but it takes a team to be successful. No question.
Congrats to the Winners and Stay Tuned.

1WooHoo! How exciting, thanks so much and congratulations on your first contest. This is just what I need to help spur me on developing a new idea I have.
So I hope you will be able to put it towards the further development of your good work. I’ll do a final consideration on the themes and send you an email. Thanks again and congrats to Tay as well.
I did not blog about the contest. Certainly considered it but felt I was going off topic to much for my few but loyal readers
