Entrecard Credits

Entrecard Marketplace

Oy Vay…I know exactly what you’re thinking….”if I read one more *@#%&! Entrecard post then I think I might puke.”

Ok maybe you didn’t say that but I know I do every time I see one. It seems as though every blogger who can’t think of anything else to write does an Entrecard post. I swore I would never write one but that shows what I know. I think you’ll find mine to be a bit different.

If you’re not familiar with Entrecard then you might consider trying it for your own blog but I am not going into the details of how it works in this article. In a nutshell, it is a traffic exchange system much like any of the other traffic exchange systems that came before it with one exception, it seems to work.

I was reading another blog that was discussing some potential upcoming changes for Entrecard. They were discussing future plans to put a dollar value on Entrecard credits, meaning you could buy or sell your Entrecard credits for real money. They already have a marketplace where you can purchase services for credits, so it would be rather simple to do.

Why Bother?

Entrecard genius I always wondered about Entrecard, I just didn’t get it. It’s a great system for bringing you traffic but what I couldn’t see, what I didn’t have the vision to see, was how it was going to be monetized.

What did Graham get out of this deal? Surely not the few dollars that his Project Wonderful ads were bringing in, that would be foolish, borderline stupid, just plain dumb and this (potentially) evil genius is anything but dumb.

Then when I read the discussion about the marketplace, it was an AH HAH moment. The light bulb came on and suddenly I saw it. This Fecker has been setting everyone up. These last 3 or 4 months of “freebies” have been getting everyone “hooked on the candy.”

I watch TV so I know how these things work. Slappy the drug dealer will give out free samples of his product for a little while, but as soon as he sees that “look” in your eyes that will stop. The freebies that got you hooked, are now going to cost you. Once you are addicted, you’ll do anything to get it.

You can see that look in many Entrecarders eyes these days. Blogs that previously had NO traffic, NO RSS subscribers, sky high Alexa have rocketed to the tops of the popularity charts. They have gained traffic, improved Alexa, picked up subscribers, all the things that bloggers want.

They are hooked on the candy.

Crime Wave Coming

Entrecard BurglarDo you think any of these blogs that have now experienced surges in traffic are going to give it up? Do you think a Mommy blog that had 12 visitors a month prior to Entrecard but now has 300 a day is going to go back to living normal? I don’t think so.

If Graham does create a marketplace where you can buy and sell Entrecard credits and puts a monetary value on them, then I am willing to be that the demand will be high. High enough that rather than spending hours chain dropping, Entrecarders may just start buying the traffic.

Junior doesn’t need braces, Sally can do with the same pair of shoes, We can cut out Movie night…..just give us more traffic. It’s addictive and it’s happening. Entrecarders will be breaking into your house and stealing your TV so they can hawk it to afford more Entrecard credits.

Laugh now, but it’s coming.

Evil Genius

I know that if I didn’t add a disclaimer to the post that inevitably some nitwit would think I was serious, so I will cave in because my nitwit tolerance level is pretty low today. This post was a joke. Graham isn’t really a drug dealer.

Entrecard can be a great tool for your blog if you use it right. I dabble with it but I don’t have time to chain drop and employ all of the “Entrecard strategies” that are out there. Some people have actually redesigned their blog in order to accommodate more drops. These will be the same ones coming through your window to steal your TV…mark my words.

Entrecard takes a lot of heat for its’ system, which I won’t go into, but the fact is this. Any traffic to most bloggers is good traffic. The more eyeballs that you can get to look at your site then the higher chance you have of gaining a regular reader or an RSS subscriber.

Entrecard allows you to broadcast your signal, if it’s any good then it will gain you readers, if not then it won’t.

Tell the next “Entrecard Hater” to stuff it.

Conclusion

I do want to give kudos to Graham for coming up with the system and having way more vision in regards to it than I did at first. Considering Grahams age I would say he has a bright future ahead of him, assuming that he doesn’t end up doing 30 years at Rikers Island for trafficking.

How about it Entrecarders….what say you?
