What a great idea…I wish I’d though of it. A lot of new blog owners get wrapped up in the whole Page Rank phenomenom. They obsess over page rank, and maybe deservedly so. Create attention grabbing titles that are relevant to the topic, be aware to include the proper amount of relevant keywords and then repeat. Repeat that formula as often as you can stand and Google will be sure to reward you.

One of the other things that everyone would agree that Google likes…is backlinks. I assume the thought process is this…if other sites link to your site then surely they must be doing so for a reason. They must like your content, it must be relevant to the topic and if people take the time to link to it then it must have some substance.
There are a lot of blackhat theories and sites out there that will attempt to sell you links or create links from some obscure directory. My opinion…is don’t do it. Google has recently cracked down on a lot of these practices and you want to tread lightly if you expect to stay on the good side of the Googlebot. Follow that simple principle and you should be ok…after all…buying a backlink is nothing more than advertising your blog.
