Bloggers sometimes keep to their own niche in their networking. I actually believe that they are keeping a hawk-eye on the competition. Well, part of the reason anyhow. If people want to build a good network group, they can also consider cross-niching. Just as we have "teams" in the outside working world. Teams of individuals with varying competencies that strengthen the team as a whole. In the blogging world, this can be getting to know quality writers, no matter their niche. A good writer, with a little research, can reel out articles on just about any subject, and still write rings around many others in that particular niche.

You also need to be aware of who you network with. As you mentioned, Bill, pro-active people that engage. Can't just kiss up to the Pro-bloggers. Each of us has to CREATE our own environment.

Tamera's last blog post..Personal Development- Mindful Matters

I agree. So far, I have seen a ton of butt kissing here and there. I won't do it. If I like a blogger who writes well, then I will want to network/be on their team. But I am not going to do it for the sake of just doing it to say I did. Know what I mean? lol.

I loved your explanation with the stars. I can't help but think- many relationships are like that too.

Very well written post full of great content, so you'd make a good partner in a network of bloggers in your niche. ;)

I esp. like, "If you can find a group of bloggers who compliment you and/or your site to form your own little network, then you too could leverage this relationship into a successful partnership." But at the same time, you've reminded us that it must be a give and take - you cannot expect to be part of an excellent group if you aren't excelling yourself.
