This has been a brutal week and I cannot tell you how happy I am that it’s Friday. Only 7 more days until I am on vacation and heading to the beach house at Myrtle Beach, SC. It’s “bike week” which is a great way to blow off steam.

I have been straight out the last 2 weeks at my day job and that has left me little time to read blogs or even post content on my own site, them’s the breaks I guess. I was getting caught up tonite and had a chance to get caught up so to speak.

45n5 Top 100 List

It suddenly dawned on me that with a PR update, a lot of blogs on Mark’s Top 100 list would have changed places. I realize this list doesn’t really measure much of anything but it’s a fun comparison tool to see how you fare against your peers.

I was slowly climbing the ladder of the Top 100 until the recent Alexa change slapped me in the head and knocked me from #123 to #159….ouch! Well tonight when I checked the list I am now OFFICIALLY in the Top 100 Make Money Blogs on the list.

I am not gaming the list by any means but I am holding down #88 which, in my book, is waaay better than #159. I think it’s obvious that Mark’s list must be heavily weighted towards Pagerank to see such a dramatic increase.

Conclusion

Does this matter? Ultimately yes and no. While I don’t think this list is a true measure of these blogs, I do think it’s as good as any other means to measure them. Pagerank, Technorati and Alexa are three measuring sticks that advertisers use to determine whether they want to advertise on your site.

If I were looking to spend some advertising dollars, Marks list make a quick and easy shopping list. This alone makes this list very relevant as it is widely known and watched by a number of people.

So even though it might not matter, it does matter. So if anyone wants to advertise on a Top 100 MMO blog, here’s your chance.
