Making money online with your blog is the goal of tens of thousands if not millions of bloggers around the world. I have read statistics that 2 new blogs are started every minute of the day, every day of the year.
Sadly most of these will fail. The blog owner will grow weary of blogging, they are chasing the lure of easy money and they think blogging is easy. If you take your blogging seriously then you already know that it isn’t easy at all. I would suspect that for every 2 blogs that start every minute of the day, two more quit at the same time.
This article series is going to discuss the many ways to make money online with your blog in each article. We will discuss different tactics or methods of generating revenue. In all cases you will need a basic understanding of blogs and technology in general but otherwise the articles will be written with the “noobs” in mind.
I will share which programs I use and what my success or failure has been when applicable.
Advertising
The first method we will discuss to make money with your blog is simply advertising. If your blog generates even a reasonable amount of daily traffic then you can effectively monetize it by selling adspace. You only have to search around a few blogs to find that most blogs are attempting to take advantage of this revenue generating feature.
The trick to advertising effectively is to experiment. Try different campaigns, positioning, banner colors, banner creatives etc and measure you results. Some types of ads will produce better than others and this is critical to find what works best with the theme of your blog.
In future articles we can discuss ad placement strategy but if you take ONE thing from this article, take this….no matter what you read, there is no substitute for experimentation. All sites are different, readers are different, ads are different. Test which works best for you.

Blogging has recently become a real popular medium online for people just talking and sharing information and also to earn revenues on blogs. Add new content daily and also use it to get back links to your web sites. This way we can earn maximum on our blogs.

What’s your blog’s biggest money maker?
HBBOH….so far for me the best money makers have been Hosting affiliate sales and phpbay and BANS commissions. So I guess the answer is Affiliate Marketing.
I have not started trying to promote private ad sales as I am still building my traffic and my brand. Once I have the right level of traffic then I expect that private ad sales will be the most dependable source of income.
I’ve only been writing on this blog for less than 2 months so I have spent my time more on getting my theme right and trying to get some strong pillar content for the site…not to mention simply learning to blog. This is hardly my first online site but it is my first blog.
