I have only looked at the site for a brief time, to looks like a good blog.
I have heard of him before but only as a marketer, if you really want to make real money through blogging it will take you a long time or you will have to outsource a lot of your work. Content is king.

John chow has an awesome blog… great design and content.
I think that if you are a copycat blogger than you won’t last.

he delivers unique content.

if you deliver unique content certain unique people will follow you!

it’s all about opinions and viewpoints.

just be yourself and BLOG!

if your interested in a certain subject blog about it… don’t mind anyone just blog about it and keep improving everything about it!

I agree with your points here in that:
John Chow’s blog is kind of lousy but he obviously knows what he is doing – so paying attention is a smart thing to do.

Am I jealous? – you bet. I would love to be making 30K per month. I guess I’ll have to continue working hard for quite a while.

I noticed that John Chow did just talk about products and promote stuff. It kind of made me think that he was boring but now that you put it that way it makes sense.

Also, if you are knew to trying to blog for money then you shouldn’t be talking trash about the guys who are doing well. You should praise them and learn from them instead.

That picture is frightening!!!

Although I stopped reading john chow a while back, I did learn a great deal from his blog. The reason I stopped reading was not because he writes mostly about his lunch, or that he is the root of all evil as some would say…… it is because of two reasons. Firstly, there is nothing new – like you mention Bill, he is doing the same thing and breeding a whole new clan of john chow wannabees who churn out the same old stuff. Secondly, I have found a new breed of sites that teach me more, that I enjoy reading and most importantly offer me fresh ideas!

Has John Chow had his day? I dont think so. Certainly not with the ever increasing amount of noobs who copy him to the letter.

Grizz, as always, raised some good points here and I agree, it’s a good discussion you have got going on here. I’ll be back.

I agree with your conclusion. I hear from so many people (usually people who dont know a lot about making money online) that they can just follow john chow’s blueprint and make money. Or they’ll even advise me – Just do it like he does it. The thing is … Well it just doesn’t really work like that. heh… We don’t need more John Chow wannabe blogs, that’s for sure. I see them all the time these days.
