I am entering the Blogging world far later than would have been ideal and that will make it much more difficult to succeed in this niche. You know what…that’s perfectly fine. The odds might be low that I can grow this blog to John Chow type proportions but my chances are 100% better than they were before I started.
That’s right….until I started blogging…I was guaranteed to fail. It was assured. No question. At least now that I have started I am in the game. I have a chance. I am at bat and it’s up to me to hit the ball.
Sadly a huge percentage of people will never have the chance at success. They are guaranteed to fail because they don’t ever take the plunge and get in the game. Don’t be that person.
Take Action
A common trait amongst the make money crowd (and people in general) is they tend to always be looking for the next big thing. They will buy e-books, join programs, subscribe to gurus, sacrifice a goat to the west wind, you name it…..all in the name of trying to be successful. They do everything BUT do the things that will ACTUALLY make them money online.
They spend so much time trying to hit it rich the easy way that they don’t realize they could be making it happen instead of watching it happen. Winners Make It Happen….Losers Make Excuses.
I have seen this in the corporate world in addition to the online world. It seems that employees will always rationalize why they didn’t get promoted. They will dream up excuses like the boss doesn’t like me or the guy who did get promoted is a kiss butt. They will rationalize it up and down until they actually believe their own crap.
Managers can be just as guilty. They won’t invest the time to train their team because they don’t think they have the right team in the first place. Guess what Sparky, if you don’t train them then they will NEVER become what you need them to be. You are guaranteed to fail because you haven’t even gotten in the game.
CEOs….oh yeah…still guilty. They might not invest the resources into a project because the last project that their company rolled out wasn’t successful or maybe they won’t enter a new market because they haven’t conquered the existing market yet. Stinking Thinking.
Action equals Success
Those who have overcome this hesitancy to take action are typically quite successful. Have you ever wondered why your neighbor who owns his own business is so successful? Have you ever looked at the couple that just retired at 45 and wondered how they were able to do it? Are they any smarter than you are? Maybe they are just lucky?
The answer is most likely NO…but the difference is likely that they were willing to take action. They got in the game, they didn’t wait for the perfect timing, they didn’t wait for the right moment. They MADE their own luck.
If you are a make money onliner then you will not succeed unless you try. If I build a niche website, I will make more money than if I read about building a niche website. If I write a blog post then I have a far better chance of earning some income from my blog than if I don’t write a blog post. If I take action I get far, far more done than reading about taking action.
Donald Trump has been quoted as saying that the difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people do the things that unsuccessful people are not willing to do….like work….like write….like create…..like ANYTHING!
Get to It
As a blogger, focusing on what you don’t have is a waste of your time, energy and productivity. You can continually read e-books about building niche websites or you can build a niche website. You can subscribe to the latest guru and listen to his rehashed BS or you can become the next guru. You can plan your next blog post or you can write your next blog post.
By taking action, and getting in the game you will find that more and more tools become available to you. You will gain invaluable knowledge and experience which will pay off in spades down the road. You will definitely fail at some of the things you try, but the experience you gain is a college education in itself.
You could go through the annals of time and not be able to find a single successful person who got the way by thinking about it, who never failed at anything. In fact you couldn’t find one that didn’t fail at a LOT of things. You are no different. Get in the game and take a swing at the ball. Start the blog you’ve been thinking about, buy the domain you have your eye on, write the novel you’ve always dreamed about.
Whatever you do…..DO SOMETHING!
Success begins and ends with me and the choices that I make, not only online but at anything I do in life. To quote Rick Pitino…..”Success is a Choice.”

4So true! I think the majority do not make money because they don’t stick at something for long enough. They change strategy every couple of weeks and wonder why they are not getting anywhere…

6This post is spot on. People expect an easy way to make money, they just dont want t have to work for it. Like you I have recently started a blog on just giving people the truth about online money. People buy e-book after e-book looking for some big secret. I always say to people you dont make money online you earn money online and thats the truth.

7@Thomas - No question. I myself am a bit of an obsessive personality. I absorb myself into whatever my current project is and give it 110%. I usually become quite good at what I am doing but I tend to have a wandering eye and sometimes move on to another project. It’s fun but annoying all at the same time.
@Tom - Amen. We can all use a dose of reality.
@HTMMO - The secret of the e-book is Google and blogs. ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING you can find in an e-book is available for free on the net.
